Welcome to our series called “Your Kingdom Come.” As we journey towards Easter through Lent, we’re going to take time to remember how Christ’s Kingdom comes on earth as it is in heaven. And it’s not through glamorous programs or initiatives; it’s not through the type of people you’d expect, those honoured and valued in society and culture. As we see in this Sunday’s passage and then the Beatitudes that precede it, Christ gives everyone who responds to His message about the coming Kingdom the incredible dignity of being the Salt and Light of His Kingdom. It’s through ordinary, everyday people living lives of faithfulness to Christ that His Kingdom is expanded.
