Welcome to Week 5 in our series “The Shema” in which we are exploring from the Scripture various aspects of how we love God with all our heart and mind. Over the course of the series so far, we’ve talked about how our hearts can be idol-making factories, with so many things competing for our heart’s affection. We looked at how money can quickly become one of those things that grips our hearts. We also looked at the important role that Scripture plays in helping us love God and align our hearts more fully to Him. This week we are looking at how we love God through our relationships with others, specifically through the continual choice to forgive. This expectation of forgiveness is tied to our own experience of forgiveness by God, which leads to the extension of grace and forgiveness to others.
