Last week, we looked at being devoted to unity for the sake of spiritual maturity in Ephesians 4. This week we look at how each one of us through Christ has been made a member of God’s household, “being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” In a household, every member is important and plays an important role. In God’s ‘house,’ it’s the same. Each one of us needs to see ourselves as a ‘living stone’ as it says in 1 Pet. 2:5, being joined and fitted together for what God is building. The question is, how do we find our place or fit in God’s household? One way is by looking at our personal S.H.A.P.E. as a believer (spiritual gifts, heart passion, abilities, personality, experience) and being devoted to serving God ’s mission in the way God has made or ‘shaped’ us.
