Jesus is Lord. He died and rose again, triumphing over sin and death and now rules as Lord over all. He invites us to follow him in a righteous life. Last week we learned that what the righteousness Jesus had in mind was not a mechanical following of rules but rather one that flows from our heart and longs for His kingdom to come on earth by transforming us from the inside out. We learnt also that the law exists to guide and guard our relationships. Jesus now proceeds to expand these ideas by applying them to six different aspects of God’s law that intersected with the daily life of his audience. He begins with anger—our focus for today.
