MY STORY...
My relationship with God began as a child as my parents helped me welcome and invite Jesus Christ to be my Saviour and Lord. Since then, God has been steering my life into greater spiritual maturity, calling me to serve Him in pastoral ministry to help others do the same. I have had the privilege of serving in pastoral ministry since 1998. As a pastor, I have served youth, young adults, and adults. Prior to serving here at Wellspring Church, I had the privilege of serving at North Shore Alliance Church in North Vancouver, BC. God has also given me the opportunity of being a part of several short-term missions to Honduras, Ghana, and Mexico.
One of the greatest gifts God has given me is the love and friendship of my wife Linda who serves as a registered psychotherapist through her practice Linda Gould Counselling. God has also given Linda and I three beautiful children, Serena, Amaris, and Simon.
I grew up in Milton, Ontario, then a small town. After graduating from high school, I spent a year in pursuit of a deeper relationship with God at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan, before attending McMaster University in preparation for a potential career in teaching. But God had other plans as He dramatically directed me into full-time pastoral ministry in 1995. In 1996, I entered biblical studies at what is now Ambrose Seminary in Calgary, Alberta. Since 1998, I have been serving the local church in full-time pastoral ministry. In 2006, I had the privilege of travelling to Israel for an in-depth study tour that greatly enhanced my understanding of the scriptures.
Along with Wellspring Church, I am passionate about helping people encounter Jesus Christ as a living Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit that enables them to know the Father heart of God. My own life story has included greater encounters with God, where the Spirit of Jesus has been growing my heart and understanding of His love and power, calling me to surrender more and more of my life to Him and his purposes, as I look to Him in His Word.
As a family, we enjoy spending time together and being active. We are so grateful for what God has done in our lives and how He chooses to use us in the lives of others for His glory. We are excited to be on a life journey with Jesus Christ as we anticipate ever greater things in God's kingdom work here in Burlington.
