Wellspring Kids!

Would you consider serving Wellspring Kids?

The Wellspring Kids Committee is looking for adult (18 & older) and jr. volunteers (11 to 17 year olds) to serve at our Wellspring Kids program on Sunday mornings. If you have any questions about serving please send us an email.

  • For each of these positions, training will be provided by the Wellspring Kids Committee.

  • Masks and eye covering will be required to be worn for the duration of the Wellspring Kids program as per the Ontario Covid-19 Health & Safety Measures for Child Care Settings.

Serving Opportunities:

Hall Monitor - responsible for welcoming families to Wellspring, registration procedures, monitoring the rooms/Wellspring Kids Zone throughout the program, acting as an extra adult support and leader for various situations (e.g., bathroom breaks, making sure kids make it to their room safely, contacting parents/guardians upstairs during the service). Thorough training will be done for this role, including at least 1 shadow day with a Wellspring Kids Committee leader. For individuals 18 & older. 

 

Large Group Teacher - responsible for reviewing the lesson outline for Sunday (lessons will be prepared by the Children's Coordinator, Fiona) and will lead the large group program time, (e.g., welcome, celebrations, memory verse time, bible teaching time & large group activities). Training will be provided, as well as at least 1-2 shadow days with a Wellspring Kids Committee leader. 

 

0-2 Year Old Room Leader - responsible for taking care of children 0-2 years old for the duration of the service. There will be no feeding or diaper changing in the room. 

 

2 & 3 Year Old Room Leader - responsible for taking care of 2-3 year old children for the duration of the service. A short bible lesson and time of action songs will be incorporated into the time. The bible lesson will be prepared by the Children’s Coordinator, Fiona. 

 

K-Gr. 5 Leader (in the large group area, not individual classrooms) - responsible for supervising the children in the large group area and assisting the large group teacher during the program by helping to keep the children engaged and promoting a positive Wellspring Kids Zone experience for all attendees. K-Gr.5 Leaders will be encouraged to engage in the games, action songs and facilitate small group discussions.

Program Outline- K to Gr. 5:

Welcome & Fun Zone

  • Stations set up to engage kids and have fun (e.g., board games, colouring, blocks, toys, books, etc…)

  • This will also be the time when kids can say their verses to one of the leaders. Kids will receive a sticker upon completion. 

 

Action Songs, Celebrations,  More Action Songs!

 

Bible Lesson taken from Grow Curriculum

This time will include a focused time of reading scripture, prayer, reflection, watching our weekly bible video, small group discussion, practicing the monthly verse and applying our learning through games or activities.
